ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> Preliminary Draft <br /> HUMAN SERVICES AND HOUSING COMMISSION <br /> Chapter 2.28 <br /> 2.28.010 Commission Created: <br /> There is created a Human Services and Housing Commission ("Commission") <br /> (Resolution 12-XX). <br /> 2.28.020 Duties: <br /> A. The Commission shall be responsible for advising the City Council on both the <br /> human service and affordable housing needs of the community and the methods for <br /> meeting these needs. Particular emphasis shall be given to the human services and <br /> affordable housing needs of the socially and economically disadvantaged, the elderly and <br /> the youth of the community. <br /> B. The duties of the Commission shall include the following: <br /> 1. Initiate, pursue, and prioritize opportunities for developing affordable housing <br /> developments and programs and human services needs and programs and the <br /> actions to be taken to address community needs; <br /> 2. Cooperate with private, non-profit and governmental sectors to promote new <br /> human services and affordable housing opportunities and services; <br /> 3. Be informed of affordable housing and human services programs, projects, <br /> funding and affiliated agencies, including service types and need; <br /> 4. Carry out responsibilities as set forth in the City Inclusionary Zoning <br /> Ordinance; <br /> 5. Review and evaluate requests from the human services and affordable housing <br /> providers for financial assistance, endorsements, and other types of assistance <br /> related to human services and affordable housing projects and programs; make <br /> recommendations to the City Council regarding such requests; <br /> 6. Coordinate the property, financial management and tenant related issues at <br /> City affordable housing projects as directed by the City Council. When directed <br /> by the City Council, carry out responsibilities related to the Housing Authority of <br /> the City of Pleasanton; <br /> 1 <br />
