Roll Call Commissioners Present: Karen De Baca Martens, Tegan McLane, Jo Molz, Sara Nealy, Tony Rivera, Howard Seebach, and Chairperson John Loll. (Commissioner Claudia Hess arrived at 7:08 p.m.) Commissioners Absent: None Staff Present: Susan Andrade-Wax, Director of Community Services; Michele Crose, Community Services Manager; Nib Velasquez, Recreation Intern; and Edith Caponigro, Recording Secretary MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMISSION 4. Recommendation to Allocate Community Grant Funds for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Ms. Crose provided some background information regarding the establishment of the Community Grant program, the application process, and the funding guidelines and priorities established by the Civic Arts Commission. She advised that a total of 13 applications from nine (9) different agencies had been received by the January 23, 2012 deadline, for a total of $80,900 in requested funding. However, Tri-Valley Repertory Theater did not submit its supporting documents until after the deadline. Staff used the same criteria as the Commission when it reviewed the 13 applications, but additionally assessed application completeness and technical merit, the relationship of the grant request to total agency and proposed project budgets, and the number of Pleasanton residents to be served proportionate to the funding amount being requested. Ms. Crose reminded the Commission that the amount of available funding for the Civic Arts category was $40,000 plus a carry-over amount of$1,260. Civic Arts Commission March 5, 2012 Page 1
