Attachment 2 I THE CITY OF Human Services �LLfSfNTONc commission Minutes Qty Council Chamber, 200 Old Bernal Avenue March 7, 2012 —4:00 p.m. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Rowland called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited. Roll Call Commissioners Present: Joyce Berger, David Lambert, Don Wilson, Rosiland Wright, and Chairperson Theresa Rowland. (Commissioner Prashant Jhanwar arrived at 4:15 p.m. Commissioner Brock Roby arrived at 4:19 p.m., and Commissioner David Nagler arrived at 4:45 p.m.) Commissioners Absent: None. Staff Present: Susan Andrade-Wax, Director of Community Services; Michele Grose, Community Services Manager; Scott Erickson, Housing Specialist; Nilo Velasquez, Intern; and Edith Caponigro, Recording Secretary. MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMISSION 4. Recommendation to allocate Housing and Human Services Grant (HHSG) Funds for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Mr. Erickson reviewed with the Commission a PowerPoint presentation outlining aspects of the grant funding process. He advised that a total of 23 applications had been received for funding under the City's Housing and Human Services Grant (HHSG) program. Recommendations made by the Commission are tentatively scheduled to be reviewed by the City Council on April 17, 2012. It is expected that, at that time, the Council will adopt a resolution approving the funding plan for the HHSG program, together with funding recommendations for Youth and Civic Arts, for FY 2012/13. The Commission was further advised by Mr. Erickson that the anticipated level of funding for the HHSG program was $642,187, with a total of $192,187 from CDBG, $160,000 from the City's General Fund, $200,000 from the HOME fund, and $90,000 from the Low Income Housing Human Services Commission Minutes March 7, 2012 Page 1
