BACKGROUND
The Annual Curb and Gutter Replacement project is an annual City program. The intent
of the project is to perform the necessary repairs and improvements to the existing curb
and gutter, walkways and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) access ramps in
preparation for the Annual Resurfacing Projects.
On April 19, 2011, Pleasanton's City Council awarded the contract to the lowest
responsible bidder, Rosas Brothers Construction, in the amount of$198,967.50. Council
authorized the Director of Community Development to approve change orders up to the
project contingency amount of $39,000. Due to the long list of needed repairs and the
good unit prices by the contractor, staff requested the contractor perform additional
repairs almost up to the full contingency amount. The subject project has since been
completed and is ready for acceptance.
Budget
Funding for the project was provided by the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project
Annual Curb and Gutter Replacement Project, CIP 105009. Because the Annual Curb
and Gutter Replacement project was short $88,153 in funding, the balance was
transferred from the Annual Sidewalk Maintenance Project, CIP 105012, to complete
the funding. A summary of the project's funding sources and expenditures is presented
in Attachment 1.
Submitted by: Fiscal
Review
Approve by:
yL(t A-1U rgl/
fqSFian
Dolan Emily W4.0ner Nelson Fialho
Director of Director of Finance City Manager
Community Development
Attachments:
1.
