STATEMENT OF WORK <br /> A. INTENT <br /> It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe the operation and <br /> maintenance of sewer and domestic water systems in the Castlewood County Service <br /> Area (CSA), of Alameda County. <br /> The County intends to award a one-year contract (with option to renew) to the bidder <br /> selected as the most responsible bidder whose response conforms to the RFP and meets <br /> the County's requirements. <br /> B. SCOPE <br /> In general, the Contractor will be responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing, <br /> testing, and monitoring the Castlewood CSA domestic water/fire flow system and <br /> wastewater collection system. <br /> The domestic water/fire flow system consists of approximately 30,000 linear feet of <br /> water mains, including valves and fittings, forty-eight (48) fire hydrants and assemblies, <br /> upper and valley pump stations, and three (3) tanks, two (2) of which are redwood and <br /> one (1) is steel. The domestic water is provided by the City and County of San <br /> Francisco. <br /> The sewer system consists of approximately 30,000 linear feet of sewer mains with <br /> eighty (80) manholes. There are approximately 256 Residential Discharge Equivalents <br /> connected to the sewerage system, club facilities count as forty-one (41) of these. The <br /> sewerage is pumped to the Dublin-San Ramon Services District wastewater treatment <br /> plant via the West Pleasanton Interceptor Sewer. <br /> C. BACKGROUND <br /> County Service Areas are formed pursuant to the State of California Government Code to <br /> provide specific services, which the County could not otherwise provide and are <br /> governed by the Board of Supervisors.
