2. That the City Council desired to annex s~id uninhmbited territory for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Pleasanton and is a portion of the present Alameda County Fair Grounds; the City wants to provide municipal services for the entire Fair Grounds and to promote the orderly growth and general welfare of the City of Pleasanton. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Alameda County, California, did on April 24, 1958, by Recommendation No. 536 approve the above described and proposed boundaries of said territory~ as corrected and copied above. 4. That Monday, June 9, 1958, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 603 Main Street, Pleasanton~ California is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Pleasanton, and having any objections thereto, may appear before the Council and show cause why such ~nnexation should not t~ke place. Such protest must be filed in writing, and may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected~ and the description and area of such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Pleasanton Times: a newspaper of general circulation published within the City, and also in the Livermore Herald~ a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City but within the Counhy of Alameda, California, the county in which said territory is located, both of said publications to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for the hearing. 6.
