2. That the City Council desired to annex s~id uninhmbited territory <br />for the following reasons: <br /> <br /> The territory is contiguous to the City of <br /> Pleasanton and is a portion of the present <br /> Alameda County Fair Grounds; the City wants <br /> to provide municipal services for the entire <br /> Fair Grounds and to promote the orderly growth <br /> and general welfare of the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Alameda County, California, <br />did on April 24, 1958, by Recommendation No. 536 approve the above described <br />and proposed boundaries of said territory~ as corrected and copied above. <br /> <br /> 4. That Monday, June 9, 1958, at the hour of 8:00 P.M. in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Hall, 603 Main Street, Pleasanton~ California is hereby <br />fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property <br />within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed <br />to the City of Pleasanton, and having any objections thereto, may appear <br />before the Council and show cause why such ~nnexation should not t~ke place. <br />Such protest must be filed in writing, and may be filed at any time before <br />the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall <br />state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected~ and <br />the description and area of such property, in general terms. <br /> <br /> 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy <br />of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than <br />once a week, in the Pleasanton Times: a newspaper of general circulation <br />published within the City, and also in the Livermore Herald~ a newspaper of <br />general circulation published outside the City but within the Counhy of <br />Alameda, California, the county in which said territory is located, both of <br />said publications to be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the <br />date set for the hearing. <br /> <br /> 6. The City Clerk is Further authorized and directed to cause written <br />notice of such proposed armexation to be mailed to each person to whom land <br /> <br /> <br />
