Task 6 -Maintain knowledge of new State and Federal mandates and comply with federal, <br /> state, and local requirements relating to occupational medicine, health, and safety. <br /> Task 7 - Utilize the IAFF Joint Labor/Management Wellness-Fitness Initiative as a <br /> guideline for continued program development(Document available upon request). <br /> Task 8 - Review and evaluate LPFD's Wellness-Fitness program with selected LPFD <br /> members on an annual basis. <br /> Task 9 - Work in conjunction with the LPFD Safety Committee on an annual basis to collect <br /> and analyze anonymous medical and fitness firefighter data in order to identify trends <br /> (positive and negative) and give feedback to LPFD personnel concerning the overall well <br /> being of the LPFD. Data criteria are to be developed with the LPFD Safety Committee. <br /> Task 10 - Conduct one educational class annually for LPFD personnel on a topic selected by <br /> the Department's Safety Committee for the health and welfare of uniformed personnel. Topic <br /> can be related to an identified trend from data analysis in "Task 9". <br /> Task 11 - Be available for meetings as necessary. <br /> Task 12 - Assist LPFD EMS Division with the ordering, storing, and dispensing of <br /> controlled narcotics. <br /> Task 13 - Serve as the LPFD AED Medical Program Director. Responsibility includes <br /> reviewing appropriateness of AED deployment and defibrillation by City employees. <br /> Together, both Cities average one or two AED deployments per year. <br /> Task 14 - Serve as reference to LPFD Management in determining the level of risk to a <br /> blood-borne pathogen exposure. <br /> Page 12 of 16 <br />
