TH 1 O <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> December 6, 2011 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE LOCATION OF THE PUBLIC ARTWORK "ETERNITY" <br /> AT THE FIREHOUSE ARTS CENTER <br /> SUMMARY <br /> "Eternity" is a white granite sculpture, mounted on a red granite base, that has been <br /> donated to the City's public art collection by Nancy and Gary Harrington and a co-donor <br /> to the "Another H.A.P.P.Y. Public Art Fund." The suggested location for the sculpture is <br /> at the Firehouse Arts Center in the alcove to the west of the ticket office. The proposed <br /> location has been reviewed and approved by the Public Art Selection Subcommittee. At <br /> its regular meeting on November 7, 2011, the Civic Arts Commission also approved the <br /> proposed location at the Firehouse Arts Center. <br /> CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the location of the public artwork "Eternity' at the <br /> Firehouse Arts Center. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the location of the public artwork "Eternity' at the <br /> Firehouse Arts Center. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The artwork "Eternity," which is valued at $24,000, has been donated to the City by <br /> Nancy and Gary Harrington and a co-donor. Pursuant to the terms of the Harrington Art <br /> Partnership, it is the City's responsibility to coordinate and pay for the installation of the <br /> public artwork. The cost of installing the piece is estimated at $3,000 and will be funded <br /> through the Public Art Acquisition Fund #038-900-4493. <br />
