A number of benches, a bicycle rack and other related park amenities are being <br /> planned to complement the new courts. While approximately one-half of the existing <br /> turf area will be converted to court surfaces and planting area, a generous turf area — <br /> approximately three-fourths of an acre — will remain for Frisbee throwing, ball-play, kite <br /> flying and other informal activities. Based upon staff's familiarity with the park and the <br /> activities that typically occur there, this remaining open turf area should be more than <br /> adequate. <br /> On October 13, 2011, the final schematic design was presented and reviewed by the <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission.
