MOTION: It was M/S by Sullivan/McGovern to form an ad hoc Downtown Hospitality Guidelines <br /> Task Force for the purpose of developing a set of guidelines that addresses key elements in <br /> creating a positive and responsible environment for downtown vitality, as amended by broadening <br /> the 3 goals to ensure all issues are covered as noted on page 2 of the staff report. Motion carried <br /> by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Hosterman <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> Vice Mayor Cook-Kallio requested a public update on the Kottinger Park Pleasanton Gardens Senior <br /> Housing issue. <br /> Councilmember Sullivan referred to the earlier Wal-Mart discussion and asked for support of to have it <br /> publicly discussed. Councilmembers supported the request, and Mr. Fialho recommended, and the <br /> Council agreed, to hold discussion after staff receives a project description. <br /> Vice Mayor Cook-Kallio suggested the Council consider what will be done with some of the <br /> neighborhood retail centers, given the impact additional acreage for high density projects may have. <br /> Councilmember McGovern added that she has received comments from residents who want another <br /> grocery store to replace Nob Hill and walking distance to grocery stores is important. <br /> COUNCIL REPORTS: None <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:28 p.m. The Council extended a <br /> tribute to our nation's men and women serving in the military.
