CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1073 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9 (WATER), OF TITLE II OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO ADD REGULATIONS FOR THE INTERMITTENT SALE OF WATER VIA HYDRANTS AND BLOW-OFFS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 2-16.05(1) of Article 1 (Regulation of Water System and Water Service Fees), Chapter 9 (Water), Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended by adding the following sentence: "Any consumer connecting to the water system on an intermittent or temporary basis, including but not limited to use of fire hydrants or blow-offs for construction water, flushing lines, or similar purposes, shall connect to the water system only after first obtaining a permit to do so from the Director; there shall be no connection charge pursuant to Article 2 hereof (Connection Charges), but there shall be a charge pursuant to Section 2-16.07 (Water Rates and Charges) hereof." Section 2: Section 2-16.07 of Article 1, Chapter 9, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended to read as follows: "2-16.07 Water Rates and Charges. There is hereby levied and assessed upon all consumers and premises connected with the water system a service charge based upon the size of the water meter to the premises and a charge based upon the amount of water flow through said meter, both of which said charges shall be paid. The amount of the service charge and the charge for water used shall be in accordance with the amount specified in the Resolution Establishing Various Fees and Charges for Municipal Services of the City of Pleasanton. Section 3: Section 2-16.48(1)(a) of Article 4 (Control of Backflow and Cross-Connections), Chapter 9, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended to read as follows: -1-
