CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 03-064 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 3, 2003, the City Council received the report from the <br /> Economic Development Manager (SR 03:153) regarding suggested changes to the <br /> membership of the Economic Vitality Committee: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Resolution No 98-47 is hereby rescinded. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />The City Council does hereby establish the Economic Vitality Committee which <br />shall serve as follows: <br /> <br />The mission of the Economic Vitality Committee shall be to assess the <br />current and ongoing business climate in the City of Pleasanton and to offer <br />suggestions and submit recommendations to the City Council intended to <br />maintain a strong economic base in the City. <br /> <br />The Committee will focus on general economic trends, issues and <br />governmental processes in an attempt to identify opportunities to assist and <br />promote economic vitality in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />The Committee's role in retaining and attracting business is limited to <br />providing general information regarding available resoumes within the <br />business community and govermnental agencies which may be beneficial <br />towards attracting new businesses to the community and/or retaining <br />existing businesses. Unless otherwise directed by the City Council, the <br />Committee shall not engage in any negotiations relative to the relaxation, <br />expansion or modification of any City regulations, fees, or services. <br /> <br />The Conunittee shall recommend to the City Council the general types of <br />business and/or markets which would be beneficial to the overall economic <br />condition of the City. The City Council shall take this information into <br />consideration when determining active attraction and retention efforts by <br />the Economic Development Manager. <br /> <br /> <br />
