On April 18, 1963, the Regional Water Pollution Control Board adopted Resolution <br />No. 450 entitled, "Policy of the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Pollution Control <br />Board With ~espect to the Reclamation of I~aste Water in the Livennore Valley." <br /> <br />Section 5-A o£ this resolution states as followsl '~his Board favors the reclam- <br />tion of waste water by irrigation in the Live~nore Valley provided that the recla~ <br />marion program is properly planned and executed." <br /> <br />Section $-B of the resolution further states~ "Proposels for ~asCeumter recl~ms- <br />tion projects must be filed urith the Regional Board in the same manner as reports <br />on waste discharge ere filed, and reports must be filed Jointly by the waste dis- <br />charger end the user whenever the discharger transfers control of the waste water <br />to another party," <br /> <br />Under date of l i ay 17~ 1963, a letter was addressed to the Agricultural Division, <br />~ater Department, City and County of San Franci?co, which embodied a proposal to <br />increase the act&age presently utilized by the ~l~Y st Pleananton for ~aste water <br />reCl-~tion through ir~ig~tion from 47 to 77 ac~es, Copies of the latter and a <br />drawing of the additional area in question are attached to this report. <br /> <br />As a result si ~he action~ previously described, it is recon~nended that the City <br />Council at this time take action as <br /> <br />Approve the proposal embodied in the letter of Nay 17, in order to <br />acquire additional disposal area for waste water reclamation through <br />irrigation. <br /> <br />~hen consur~n~ted~ this proposal will be fo~qarded to the Regional <br />~ater Pollution Control Board under the provisions of Resolution No. 450° <br /> <br />Approve this repot% City Adm/niatrator Report No. 18, by resolution, <br />as the report to be submitted to the Regional Water Pollution Control <br />Board on Nay 21, 1963, in accordance ~rlth the provisions of Resolution <br />No. /-~6. <br /> <br />3. In submitting the above report~ emphasize the followin~ points: <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton is now utilizi~ a sewage effluent disposal <br />process which involves waste water reclamation through irrigation, <br />in accordance ~rlth Board Resolution ~o. 450. <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton is endeavorin§ to enlarge the area presently <br />being utilized for waste water reclamation through irrigation, as <br />exemplified by the proponal of Nay 17. <br /> <br />The City of Plnasanton has agreed to accomplish the effluent <br />Honttoring Program as prescribed by the Regional ~ater Pollution <br />Control Board. <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton~ insofar as can be known at present, is <br />meeting the /kBS discharge requirements set forth in Board Resolution <br />No. ~46, and is making a further effort to insu~ that said require- <br />ments ~11 continue to be met in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />
