EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES -1551 RESPONDER ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AGREEMENT (REV 2/17/11) <br /> agreement regarding the provision of prehospital emergency medical services under Health <br /> & Safety Code Section 1797.201. Nothing in this agreement is intended to extinguish any <br /> existing rights of the parties under Section 1791.201 or 1797.224 of Division 2.5 of the <br /> California Health and Safety Code. <br /> SECTION 2 - TERM <br /> 2.1 This Agreement is for the provision of 911 First Responder Advanced Life Support Services <br /> for a five year period, commencing July 1, 2011, and continuing through June 30, 2016, <br /> with an option to extend for an additional five (5) year period upon mutual agreement <br /> between County and Contractor. <br /> SECTION 3 - SERVICES/PRIMARY RESPONSE AREA <br /> 3.1 Contractor shall identify and provide a representative, available to respond at all times <br /> within Contractor's Primary Service Area, and authorized to act on behalf of Contractor in <br /> all operational matters. Contractor shall provide the specific means for contacting the <br /> designated representative. <br /> 3.2 Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring dispatch and responding to requests for <br /> emergency medical services originating within its primary service area. <br /> 3.3 First Responder Advanced Life Support (FRALS) Services <br /> The Contractor shall provide FRALS services to all requests for medical assistance as <br /> defined by MPDS protocols (TABLE A-PERSONNEL AND RESPONSE TIME REQUIREMENTS) including 5150 <br /> calls. As per MPDS and State regulations, call prioritization must be determined under the <br /> direction of the Medical Director. <br /> a. Contractor shall provide FRALS service to patients until transfer of patient care to <br /> arriving ambulance personnel, according to County EMS Policies, or a medical physician <br /> of competent authority in accordance with County EMS Physician-on-scene policy. <br /> b. Services shall be provided to all areas within the Primary Service Area and as otherwise <br /> required by this Agreement. A map of the Contractor's Primary Service Area is attached <br /> as EXHIBIT A- DEPICTION AND DEFINITION OF CONTRACTOR'S PRIMARY SERVICE AREA. <br /> 3.4 Standards <br /> a. Contractor shall be available to provide FRALS services 24 hours per day, 7 days per <br /> week, 52 weeks per year without interruption, for the full term of the Agreement.
