5. Adopted Resolution No. 11-418 to accept the 2009/10 Fiscal Year year-end financial <br /> report of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget and amend the 2009/10 Fiscal <br /> Year CIP Budget <br /> 6. Accepted the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and other related audits for <br /> the year ending June 30, 2010 and approve year-end audit adjustments <br /> Police <br /> 7. Approved Special Event Street Closures for 2011 <br /> MOTION: It was M/S by Thorne/Cook-Kallio to approve the Consent Calendar as submitted. <br /> Motion passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> 8. Public Comment <br /> Mayor Hosterman asked for those persons wishing to speak under Item 9, and said thereafter, <br /> public comment would be taken. <br /> Brenda Wood, Business Agent, AFSCME Local 955, spoke of employee financial concessions <br /> and sacrifices, and asked for City leaders to rebuild the trust with employees. <br /> Alda Nash spoke of disappointment in the turn of events, said members remain committed to <br /> the fiscal well-being of the City, and asked for respect of the process and fairness. <br /> Josie Camacho, Alameda Labor Council, voiced concerns on behalf of AFSCME members who <br /> provide important services to the community and to residents and asked for support of City <br /> employees. <br /> David Miller said the matter is not about tearing people down but rather addressing the problem <br /> and coming up with a fair solution. <br /> Lori Bailey, spoke of her 21 year tenure with the police department and dedication of employees <br /> to the city and its residents, and voiced disappointment with the process. <br /> Maia Freiburg, 6 year career dispatch employee who said she cannot afford to live in the City, <br /> asked the Council to consider the future of employees. <br /> Bart Hughes cited the cost of personnel and benefits, reduction in services, and hoped new <br /> options will be considered through the process. <br /> Maggie Wong read a letter into the record from Amber, a dispatcher, who could not attend the <br /> meeting and citing the dedication of employees. <br /> City Council Minutes Page 2 of 11 February 15,2011 <br />
