E/VGEO

INCORPORATED

GHAD Administrator or if requested by concerned residents. Specific inspection tasks include
the following:

The Engineer and/or Geologist retained by the GHAD shall carry out an inspection of surface
drainage ditches a minimum of twice each year. The inspection shall check for
sedimentation and cracking or shifting of the concrete-lined ditches. Repairs and
maintenance as needed should be undertaken including removal of excess silt or sediment in
ditches and patching or replacement of cracked or broken ditches.

Outlets of subsurface drains shall be checked. This inspection shall take place at least twice
annually, once in August and once in the spring. Any suspicious interruption or reduction in
flow should signal a need to unplug or clean by flushing the affected drain.

Piezometers measuring groundwater level and any instruments such as inclinometers or
settlement monuments measuring potential slope instability shall be monitored quarterly.

The GHAD will notify the City of Pleasanton when a GHAD inspection identifies a
condition on City property that could adversely affect GHAD property and/or the Covered
Area. Such conditions would include, but not be limited to, evidence of landslides, mud
flows, uncontrolled and/or diverted drainage and/or standing water.

Inspections of the curb, gutter and roadway surfaces on those portions of the GHAD property
that cross a landslide repair or are proximate to a mapped area of slope instability shall be
made. The inspections should check for cracking or offset of the roadway, curbs and/or
gutters. Any measurable separation of cracks along the road should be recorded. Any
suspicious cracking or offsets should be reported to the GHAD to determine whether further
geotechnical studies are necessary.

An annual inspection shall be made by the Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist
each August to assess the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program and to make
recommendations as to what landslide or erosion control measures should be undertaken in
the next calendar year. An appropriate site-specific study of landslide or erosion conditions
shall be determined at that time. Consultants, if necessary, will be retained to undertake the
needed studies. The Engineer or Engineering Geologist shall prepare an annual inspection
report to the GHAD.

4992.5.001.01
February28,2003 13 DRAFT2
