ENGEO

INCORPORATED

GEOLOGIC ACTION PLAN

A. Planned Remedial Actions

One landslide was identified prior to the grading for the subdivision. This landslide was studied
by the project geotechnical and geologic consultants as part of required site-specific geotechnical
explorations. During the mass grading and site improvements, some areas of slope instability
will be removed and replaced with engineered fill. This slope stabilization process ~vill also
involve the installation of subsurface drainage systems within the repaired slopes. When
completed, the "as-built" grading plans and documents will show implemented landslide repairs.

B. Retention of Consultants

The GHAD shall retain contractors and professional consultants such as a
Geotechnical Engineer, Civil Engineer, or other geologic engineering consultants to identify
potential landslide and erosion hazards. The professional consultants and contractors shall
monitor existing or potential landslide and erosion hazards, repair or stabilize landslides, and
mitigate, abate, or control the effects of landsliding. In addition, the GHAD will monitor and
mitigate erosion hazards and adverse sediment effects, with recommendations from the
professional consultant.

C. Plan Review

As stated previously, the GHAD will not be responsible for, nor does the Covered Area include,
individual lots. Nevertheless, to mitigate adverse grading modifications by homeowners, the
GHAD shall be first in the chain-of-plan review, in order to check whether proposed homeowner
improvements would adversely impact slope stability, subsurface drainage systems, and erosion
protection or detention systems. The GHAD shall act in an advisory capacity only and make its

4992.5.001.01
February 28, 2003 10 DRAFT 2
