Attachment 1 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR ASSEMBLY BILL 2286, GRANT APPLICATION WHEREAS, Assembly Bill AB 2286 (statutes 2008) went into effect January 1, 2009; and WHEREAS, AB 2286 requires all Certified Unified Program Agencies and business regulated under the Unified Program to report electronically by January 1, 2013.; and WHEREAS, The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies for certain costs mandated by the state and compliance with AB 2286 reporting requirements will cause Certified Unified Program Agencies to incur additional costs; and WHEREAS, AB 2286 caused the Unified Program oversight surcharge to be increased by $25 each year for 3 years with not less than 75% of that funding to be provided to Certified Unified Program Agencies through grant funds; and WHEREAS, the Livermore - Pleasanton Fire Department is the Certified Unified Program Agency for the cities of Livermore and Pleasanton; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes the submittal of an Assembly Bill 2286, application to the Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency; and SECTION 2. The Fire Chief, or his /her designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Pleasanton all documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, annual reports including expenditure reports and amendments necessary to secure said payments to support our Unified Program; and SECTION 3. This authorization is effective until rescinded by City Council of the City of Pleasanton; and SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on May 3, 2011.
