• Led implementation of the Solar Cities Program to advance photovoltaic installations <br />throughout the Tri- Valley. The program includes quarterly educational workshops and an <br />informative website. <br />• Implemented a new Police computer -aided dispatch and records management system to <br />improve response times and public safety record keeping. <br />• Maintained a commitment to youth outreach and education programs through active <br />participation in Every 15 Minutes, Teen Police Academy, Explorers, Junior Firefighters and <br />Youth in Government Day programs. <br />• Started summertime outdoor Movies in the Park series in Downtown Pleasanton. <br />• Co- sponsored two annual Real Estate Town Hall meetings to share up -to -date information <br />about the local real estate market and promote the programs of the Tri - Valley Housing <br />Opportunity Center. <br />• Began five -year process to convert all City fleet to hybrid or other fuel- efficient <br />technologies. <br />• Initiated work to complete an updated Youth Master Plan to address emerging issues within <br />our youth population and identify service /program gaps throughout the City. <br />• Part 1 crimes decreased by 14% this year, and Part! clearances (solved crimes) increased <br />to 33% (state average is 22 %). <br />• Injury traffic collisions decreased over the last five years, with the last year showing a 12% <br />reduction. <br />• Transitioned from fleet of white patrol cars to the more traditional black- and -white paint <br />scheme, resulting in greater visibility and public recognition. The cost was absorbed <br />through scheduled vehicle replacement and the Citizens Options for Public Safety grant. <br />• Instituted online reporting of minor criminal offenses and non- criminal incidents, offering the <br />public an opportunity to generate police reports via personal computer or Smartphone. <br />Police department staff review the reports for accuracy, and where appropriate, contact the <br />reporting party and arrange for follow -up. This program has saved the City staff time in <br />documenting non - critical police reports. <br />FISCAL MANAGEMENT <br />• For the 7th year, received the Excellence in Budgeting Award from the California Society of <br />Municipal Finance Officers (CSMFO) for the Operating Budget and for the 12 straight <br />year, received GFOA Certificate of Excellence in financial reporting for the Comprehensive <br />Annual Financial Report (CAFR). In regards to the CAFR, received a "clean- audit" finding <br />from third -party Auditors every year the report has been issued. <br />5 <br />
