LE ASANTONO <br />ACCOMPLISHMENTS: <br />Attachment 5 <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS (e.g. open space, parks, facilities, infrastructure, roads and <br />other quality of life factors) <br />• Completed the Callippe Preserve Golf course and Happy Valley Open Space Project. The <br />course is ranked as the 43 best Municipal Course in United States, received a Chapter <br />Award for the second year in the row from Golf Digest/Golf Course Superintendents <br />Association for environmental stewardship and a "Best Value in Bay Area" by <br />Greenkeeper.org. <br />• Completed construction of Fire Station #4 on the Bernal Property to improve coverage <br />citywide. The facility is compliments the local aesthetic, establishes a unique gateway into <br />Pleasanton's downtown commercial core, and at the time of construction, had the highest <br />LEED rating (LEER Gold Certification) and was the first LEED - certified emergency service <br />building in Alameda County. <br />• Completed the design and construction of 13 acres of the Bernal Community Park. <br />• Completed the design and construction of the Marilyn Kane Trail. <br />• Completed the design and construction of downtown public restrooms. <br />• Completed the design and construction of the Alviso Adobe Community Park. Approved <br />operating agreement with Museum on Main Street organization to advance cooperative <br />educational and docent opportunities. <br />• Completed the design and construction of Gingerbread Preschool. I n fiscal year 2008, <br />expanded services to children ages 3 through pre - Kindergarten. <br />• Completed the restoration of Kottinger Creek running through Kottinger Park <br />• Implemented design and construction of the Firehouse Arts Center project, including <br />construction of the adjacent parking facility with 100 new spaces for downtown and the arts <br />center. Facility opening planned for 2010. <br />• Completed the design and construction of the Veterans Memorial Building. <br />• Completed realignment of Vineyard Avenue, including new streetscape and resurfacing <br />project, which included wider medians, decorative landscaping and open- graded, sound - <br />attenuating asphalt. <br />1 <br />
