Attachment 1 <br /> PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY <br /> BY DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2.44 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code empowers the Director of <br /> Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency <br /> when the City is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and the City Council is not <br /> in session; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Manager, as Director of Emergency Services of the City of <br /> Pleasanton, does hereby find that: <br /> 1. Conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within <br /> the City of Pleasanton, caused by a landslide that destroyed the waterline between <br /> Tank 1300 and Tank 1600 on the Pleasanton Ridge, west of Foothill Road, <br /> Pleasanton, commencing on or about 12:00 a.m. on the 25 day of March, 2011, <br /> resulting in the disruption of water service for approximately 250 residences and fire <br /> suppression for the residences; and <br /> 2.
