Resolution No. 03-032 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Supports the implementation of a coordinated system of ramp metering, <br />surveillance and incident management in the 1-580 Smart Corridor as <br />recommended in the 1-580 Smart Corridor Phase I Report. <br /> <br />Section 3: <br /> <br />Pledges to continue to work cooperatively through the 1-580 Smart Corridor <br />Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Policy Advisory Committee's (PAC) <br />to establish operating agreements and understandings to equitably manage the <br />traffic in the 1-580 Corridor and economically operate the traffic management <br />systems. <br /> <br />Section 4: <br /> <br />If after nine (9) months of fine tuning the ramp metering and local signal systems, <br />or any point thereafter, if the City Council finds that one or more of the metered <br />ramps is resulting in unacceptable increases in traffic delays or congestion, <br />Caltrans will, at the City's request, operate the specified on ramp metering lights <br />in constant green mode or at the demand rate during the time period necessary to <br />eliminate the negative impact the metering light is having on the adjoining City <br />roadway or intersection. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON APRIL 15, 2003 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Brozosky, Campbell, and Hosterman <br />Councilmember Ayala <br />Mayor Pico <br />None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Peggy 1~. ~zfdr~, Cit~lerk <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Michael H.
