City of Pleasanton P2010.000.343 Pumping Station S -6 Replacement Project No. 012027 August 16, 2010 PROPOSAL FOR CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION Revised August 18, 2010 AND MATERIALS TESTING SERVICES Page 2 SCOPE OF SERVICES We developed our anticipated scope of services from your REP dated August 5, 2010, our brief discussions and the project plans titled "Sanitary Sewer Lift Station S -6 Replacement, project No. 012027" developed by Carollo Engineers, dated June 2010. According to the plan notes, special inspection is required regarding foundation excavations, engineered fill, reinforced concrete, structural steel fabrication in the shop and field, high strength bolting, mechanical and epoxy -set anchors and structural masonry. We have prepared a fee estimate based solely on the project plans and our experience with similar projects. Since this fee estimate is based solely on preliminary or assumed construction schedules, it may not be an accurate reflection of the actual fee. Time required for various aspects of the work are highly dependent on the size of the trade crews and their schedules, over which we have no control. Should the construction schedule require more time than is estimated herein, our contract fees will be adjusted accordingly. Changes in scope, repair work, scheduling and /or contract terms and conditions may also result in adjustments to our fees. Our actual budget will be determined by the time required for construction and may vary due to the actual construction progress. PREFERRED FEES Please note that although ENGEO is a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 3, we do not bill our projects in 4- and 8 -hour increments as do many of our competitors. Beyond a 2 -hour minimum charge for show -up, our time is billed in real -time, portal -to- portal, 1/2-hour increments. We are waiving the 2 -hour show -up fee for sample pick -ups and charging only 1 hour per event. Moreover. we are waiving the Prevailing Wage mark -up of $l5 /hour as presented on our Preferred Client Fee Schedule. Details of our estimated time and rates are provided on the attached Special Inspection and Materials Testing Fee Estimate Details. We estimate that our fee for providing the special inspection services as outlined above will be an estimated S24,495 to be billed on a time- and - expense basis, in accordance with the attached fee schedule. AUTHORIZATION If you are in agreement with the scope of services and fees outlined above, please issue your standard authorization in accordance with the previously executed master agreement with the City of Pleasanton. Normally, services are unable to commence without prior receipt of an executed agreement.
