PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2002-27 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF THE LIVERMORE <br />VALLEY JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER FOR DESIGN REVIEW AND <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />PDR-182/PCUP-46 <br />WHEREAS, the Livermore Valley Jewish Community Center has applied for design <br />review approval and conditional use permit approval to construct an <br />approximately 9,735-squaze-foot single-story building consisting of a <br />2,250-squaze-foot sanctuary, a 1,440-squaze-foot multipurpose room, a <br />530-squaze-foot kitchen, a 340-square-foot library/conference room, <br />2,250-squaze feet of classrooms, 1,100-squaze feet of office, and <br />miscellaneous azeas, such as hallways, display azeas, storage azeas, and <br />bathrooms (Phase I) located at 2500 Stanley Boulevazd neaz the <br />intersection of Stanley Boulevazd and Bernal Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-C (Planned Unit Development - <br />Commercial) District; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of Apri124, 2002, the Planning <br />Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and <br />recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission approved the negative declazation prepared for <br />this project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: <br />1. The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with <br />the objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the <br />district in which the site is located. <br />The general provisions of the Zoning Ordinance state that part of the <br />objectives of the ordinance are: <br />^ To insure that public and private lands ultimately are used for the <br />purposes which are most appropriate and most beneficial from the <br />standpoint of the City as a whole. <br />^ To safeguard and enhance the appearance of the City. <br />The proposed use is appropriate, beneficial, and would enhance the <br />appeazance of Stanley Business Pazk.
