Accept the project improvements and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of
Completion.
2. Authorize final payment to Granite Construction in the amount of $8,012.72.
3. Authorize payment of the project retention in the amount of $39,267.29 to Granite
Construction Company thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion.
4. Authorize the transfer of the remaining balance from the subject project to Annual
Resurfacing of Various City Streets, CIP 105003.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The project qualified for a fixed amount of $370,000 from the federal government's
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant. Staff cost to provide
engineering and project management for this project was reimbursed by ARRA in the
amount of $20,308. Additionally, $51,686 in gas tax monies from the Annual Street
Resurfacing project (CIP No. 095003) were used to complete the construction funding
of this project. This project is part of the City's ongoing maintenance efforts to replace
the deteriorated pavement surfaces of City streets. It is anticipated that ongoing
maintenance and resurfacing will extend the useful life of the roadway system and
reduce overall long -term replacement costs.
