concealed until inspected and approved. Before any property service equipment is <br /> buried or covered it shall be inspected by the Building and Safety Official. When the <br /> installation of building and /or property service equipment is complete, a final inspection <br /> shall be made. Building and /or property service equipment regulated by the technical <br /> codes shall not be connected to the water, fuel or power supply or sewer system until <br /> authorized by the Building and Safety Official. <br /> 305A.7.2 Operation of building service equipment. The requirements of this section <br /> shall not be considered to prohibit the operation of building service equipment installed <br /> to replace existing building service equipment serving an occupied portion of the <br /> building in the event a request for inspection of such building service equipment has <br /> been filed with the Building and Safety Official not more than 48 hours after the <br /> replacement work is completed, and before any portion of such building service <br /> equipment is concealed by permanent portions of the building. <br /> 305A.8 Reinspections. A reinspection fee may be assessed for each inspection or <br /> re- inspection when such portion of work for which inspection is called is not complete or <br /> when inspections called for are not made. Reinspection fees may be assessed when <br /> the inspection record card is not posted or otherwise available on the work site, the <br /> approved plans are not readily available to the inspector, for failure to provide access on <br /> the date for which inspection is requested, or for deviating from plans requiring the <br /> approval of the Building and Safety Official. <br /> To obtain a reinspection after a reinspection fee has been assessed, the applicant shall <br /> first pay the assessed re- inspection fee in accordance with the Fees and Charge as set <br /> forth in the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> SECTION 306A — SPECIAL INSPECTIONS <br /> 306A.1 General. Where application is made for construction as described in this <br /> Chapter 17 of the California Building Code, the owner or the registered design <br /> professional in responsible charge acting as the owner's agent shall employ one or <br /> more approved agencies to perform inspections during construction on the types of <br /> work listed under Section 1704. These inspections are in addition to the inspections <br /> identified in Section 305A of this code. <br /> EXCEPTION: Special inspections are not required for work of a minor nature as <br /> approved by the Building and Safety Official. <br /> SECTION 307A — STRUCTURAL OBSERVATION <br /> Structural observation shall be provided when so designated by the architect or <br /> engineer of record, or when such observation is specifically required by the Building and <br /> Safety Official and comply with the requirements in Section 1710 of the California <br /> Building Code. <br /> 29 <br />
