4. Shear and Roof Inspection. A lateral bracing, roof framing and sheathing <br /> inspection shall be made before any weather protection covering or roofing <br /> material is installed on the walls or roof of any building. <br /> 5. Plumbing, Mechanical, Gas and Electrical Inspection. Rough inspection of <br /> plumbing, mechanical, gas and electrical systems shall be made prior to covering <br /> or concealment, before fixtures or appliances are set or installed, and prior to <br /> framing inspection. <br /> 6. Frame Inspection. Framing inspections shall be made after the roof deck or <br /> sheathing are approved and the structure is adequately protected from weather <br /> intrusion, all framing fireblocking and bracing are in place and pipes, chimneys <br /> and vents to be concealed are complete and the rough electrical, plumbing, <br /> heating, wiring, piping and ducts are approved. <br /> 7. Sprinkler System Pre- Concealment Inspection. Fire sprinklers shall be installed <br /> in all required locations, and the sprinkler piping installation shall be tested and <br /> inspected prior to the concealment of any sprinkler system piping. <br /> 8. Energy Efficiency Inspections. Inspections shall be made to determine <br /> compliance with Title 24, Part 6 and shall include, but not be limited to, <br /> inspections for: envelope insulation R- and U- values, fenestration U- value, duct <br /> system R- value, and HVAC and water- heating equipment efficiency. Wall and <br /> concealed ceiling insulation inspections are required to be made after the frame <br /> inspection is approved and before being covered. <br /> 9. Lath and /or wallboard Inspection. Lath and gypsum board inspections shall be <br /> made after lathing and gypsum board, interior and exterior, is in place, but before <br /> any plastering is applied or gypsum board joints and fasteners are taped and <br /> finished. <br /> Exception: Gypsum board that is not part of a fire - resistance -rated assembly. <br /> 10. Fire - resistance -rated Construction Inspection. Wherever fire - resistance -rated <br /> construction is required, the Building and Safety Official shall require an <br /> inspection of such construction after all lathing and /or wallboard is in place, but <br /> before any plaster is applied, or before wallboard joints and fasteners are taped <br /> and finished. Protection of joints and penetrations in fire - resistance -rated <br /> assemblies, smoke barriers and smoke partitions shall not be concealed from <br /> view until inspected and approved. <br /> 11. Other Inspections. In addition to the inspections specified above, the Building <br /> and Safety Official is authorized to make or require other inspections of any <br /> construction work to ascertain compliance with the provisions of this code and <br /> other laws that are enforced by the department of building safety. <br /> 12. Final Inspection. Final inspection shall be made after the permitted work is <br /> complete and prior to occupancy. <br /> 305A.7 Required Building and /or Property Service Equipment Inspections. <br /> 305A.7.1 General. For all stand alone plumbing, mechanical and electrical permits and <br /> all other building and /or property service equipment for which a permit is required by <br /> this code shall be inspected by the Building and Safety Official.
