20.26.20 Mandatory CALGreen Tier 1 for Specified Projects (Sections 304, 305, 305.1.1, <br /> 305.1.2, 306, Appendix A4, and Appendix A5). <br /> A. Section 304 of CALGreen is amended to read as follows: <br /> 304.2 Mandatory Tier 1 Projects. CALGreen Tier 1, except for Construction Waste <br /> Reduction, Disposal and Recycling as provided in Section 20.26.30, shall be mandatory for the <br /> following new construction projects: <br /> 1. any city sponsored project; <br /> 2. commercial project that includes 20,000 gross square feet or more of conditioned <br /> space; <br /> 3. renovation of any commercial project or city sponsored project that adds 20,000 <br /> gross square feet or more of additional conditioned space, but not a renovation <br /> project that consists solely of interior improvements to an existing building; <br /> 4. any single - family residential project that is 2,000 square feet or more in size; <br /> 5. any multi- family residential project; <br /> 6. any mixed use project; <br /> 7. additions to residential projects where the addition is 2,000 square feet or greater; <br /> 8. additions of any size to residential projects where the residential project was less <br /> than 2,000 square feet when built and it has been less than five years from the <br /> date the certificate of occupancy was issued. <br /> Excepting from this CALGreen Tier 1 requirement shall be new construction of commercial <br /> and mixed use projects within the Downtown Specific Plan planning area, and new <br /> construction of accessory structures which require a building permit, which new <br /> construction shall otherwise be subject to CALGreen's minimum mandatory requirements, <br /> as set forth in Section 20.26.10. <br /> And as used in this chapter, the following words shall have the following definitions: <br /> (a) "City sponsored project" means a building(s) primarily funded and sponsored by <br /> the city or on city owned land. <br /> (b) "Commercial project" means any retail, office, industrial, warehouse or service <br /> building(s) within city limits, which is not a city sponsored project, a residential <br /> project, or a mixed use project. <br /> Green Building / CALGreen Exhibit I_ Page 2 of 5 <br />
