<br />Jim Lammers, 3276 Touriga Drive, noted that he lived in Vintage Hills, and noted that <br />the size of the building seemed to be the main concern. He noted that the traffic on his <br />street was very bad, and he did not believe this project would affect traffic on residential <br />streets would be as bad as some residents feared. He noted that the trees would screen <br />the view of the buildings, and added that this would be a residential community. <br /> <br />Paul Lunger, 952 Pamela Place, was not in attendance to speak. <br /> <br />Mike Smith, 798 Bonita A venue, noted that his wife already spoke. <br /> <br />Diane Nicholson, 630 E. Angela Street, was not in attendance to speak. <br /> <br />Tom Dayton. 786 Bonita Avenue, noted that there had been much discussion for this kind <br />of housing without making the distinction between skilled nursing care and assisted <br />living facilities. He added that a clear distinction had been made between Pleasanton's <br />needs, the Tri- Valley's needs, the State's needs, and the country's needs, and added that <br />demand for services. He believed that skilled nursing facilities were more in demand than <br />affordable housing, and added that this facility would have a mix of services. He <br />requested that the Planning Commission demand the sources of data supplied by the <br />applicants. He believed that while there was a benefit to the community at large, there was <br />also a detriment to the neighborhood, and was concerned about the balance and the <br />appropriateness of the facility. He was critical of the traffic study, and believed that it <br />should be redone. He did not believe that section drawings were sufficient. He believed <br />that the parking study was insufficient, and cited the peak time church parking as an <br />example of load on the neighborhood. He found it difficult to believe that landscaping <br />would hide the building. He would like to see the entire site graded, even though it would <br />be more expensive. He noted that there was no consensus in the surrounding <br />neighborhood regarding the benefit of the project. <br /> <br />Tom Johnson, 828 Bonita A venue, was not in attendance to speak. <br /> <br />Lilia Hernandez, 4341 Bevilacqua Court, noted that she practiced in pediatrics. She noted <br />that it was important to care for aging parents, and that she could live with this proposed <br />project. She cited a personal experience to emphasize her support for a neighborhood <br />facility, and noted that so many elderly were lonely because of the lack of close contact <br />with family. She stated that the parking lot of the nursing home she had visited had barely <br />ten cars in it from visitors. She supported this project, and believed it would benefit the <br />community. <br /> <br />Julie Wheeler Buckovis, 868 Bonita Avenue, suggested that the project should be scaled <br />back or moved to another location. She was not opposed to the project being on the site, <br />but was opposed to the size and massing of the building. She believed that the property <br />should be graded, which was increase its conformity to the neighborhood.
