5,

6.

A:
Q:
A:

7.

Q:
A:

8.

Q:

A:

A:

That was generally true; the bigger issue was when Silicon
Valley's business picture improves, there will be much more traffic
pressure put on the Tri-Valley.
Can the model be married to other economic development
scenarios in Santa Clara County and Silicon Valley?
Yes. Silicon Valley is shown in very gross level detail.
How is housing affordability tied to employment and salary?
The model does not match the offered salary to income required
for housing in the same area.
Where do Danville residents travel for their jobs?
The residents travel both north and south on I -680, as well as Crow
Canyon and Tassajara. Residents of an area mayor may not work
in those same areas.
What was the conclusion of the survey of apartments near
Hacienda?
35% of those apartment residents worked in Pleasanton, compared
to citywide numbers that range between 21-25%. The City will
conduct a telephone survey and other empirical data surveys at the
apartments in Pleasanton to get a good handle on what happens to
peak-hour traffic, where it is going, and why it is going there. That
data would help fine-tune the models. The pay scale of the job and
the affordability ofthe unit will be central to the discussion. All the
apartments in the North Pleasanton area have at least 25% of the
units that are rented to low-income residents. Residents of almost
all ofthe low-income households work in the Tri-Valley.

Q:

V. DISCUSSION FOR UPCOMING ROUNDTABLE / HOST SELECTION

Chairperson Maas noted that the Town of Danville had expressed interest in hosting the
next Roundtable. Early spring of 2003 (possibly April) was suggested.

Suggested topics of discussion may include a perspective from each jurisdiction about the
Housing Element, their experiences with the HCD.

Chairperson Maas believed that was an interesting subject, and suggested that the format
be changed slightly to allow more discussion.

Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m.

Page 5 of5
