Town of Danville <br />o This is generally a slow time for development in town; however, some infill <br />projects are coming forward. <br />o Small subdivisions and commercial refurbishing are occurring downtown, <br />including the conversion and refurbishment of an old KFC building. <br />o Bridge housing project and senior center are nearing completion, which is <br />anticipated in February 2003. <br />o The tree lighting ceremony is upcoming. <br /> <br />Janet Harbin, Senior Planner, City of Dublin <br />o The City is very busy with projects such as Dublin Ranch, a community <br />consisting of a golf course and higher-priced homes <br />o An annexation is underway in the East Area. <br />o Three Specific Plans were adopted in the last year, and are in the process of <br />being implemented. <br />o A senior project is being planned for the existing library, and a new library is <br />being built near City Hall. <br />o Monuments in the downtown area are being planned to enhance the <br />appearance of the streets. <br />o A large church and school (the Valley Christian Center) is planning an <br />expansion in the western part of Dublin. <br />o A plan for western Dublin's large open space is being developed to keep the <br />hillside development down. <br />o The Crown Chevrolet site is included in the West Dublin BART Specific Plan <br />Area. The property is designated for retail and office use in the Specific Plan. <br /> <br />Mike Sedlak and Mary Roberts, Planning Commissioners. City of Pleasanton <br />o The City has been heavily involved in green building measures, working with <br />Wendy Sommer from Alameda County Waste Management Authority. The <br />City Council recently passed the Green Building Ordinance unanimously. The <br />Ordinance parallels the U.S. Green Building Council's green certification. <br />o The Planning Commission recently approved a 105 bedroom assisted living <br />facility on City land next to the Senior Center, including 19 dementia units. <br />o The Planning Commission approved the development on the Busch Property, <br />which had previously been rescinded. The approved plan includes 172 units <br />for seniors, half of which are affordable to low- and very-low-income. A <br />church and a school site are included in the plan. <br />o California Splash is trying to redevelop the Shadow Cliffs area, and expand it; <br />the project is in the workshop phase. <br />o Applied Biosystems is building north ofI-680 on the former Kaiser Research <br />Center site on Sunol Boulevard; the company has set the goal of building to <br />the Silver LEEDTM level. <br /> <br />Page 2 of5 <br />
