Staff recommended approval of this
project.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED.

Tamara Freund, applicant, 4855 Hopyard Road, C3, noted that she bought the learning
center in 1997, and added that it had an existing use permit. She had built out the existing
site, and was unaware of any permits other than those referenced by her contractor. They
enforced a very strict policy regarding loitering and noise. For the students' safety, they
were required to wait in the learning center regardless of age. The bathrooms were
located in the center, and she noted that there was no reason for the students to leave the
center unless they visited Round Table Pizza.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED.

Commissioner Kameny moved to approve PCUP-62 as recommended by staff.
Commissioner Sullivan seconded the motion.

ROLL CALL VOTE

r-

AYES:
NOES:
ABSTAIN:
ABSENT:

Commissioners Kameny, Maas, and Sullivan
None
None
Commissioners Arkin and Roberts

Resolution No. PC-2002-54 was entered and adopted as motioned.

b.
