<br />~ <br /> <br />discussed the use of a speed bump to minimize any hazards in the parking lot, and added <br />that stamped concrete was a more appropriate material for that purpose. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Kameny, Mr. Hirsch replied that the proposed <br />dimension for the restaurant was 1,500 square feet of interior space. <br /> <br />Mr. Hirsch noted that they had listened carefully to the Commission and that they wanted <br />to be a good neighbor. He added that the site would be a nice gateway into that part of <br />town. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Arkin, Mr. Weldon Theobald, Bernal <br />Partners, L.L.C., replied that temporary signage would be limited. He added that it would <br />be of little benefit because of the porch in the front of the store. He noted that the police <br />departments limited the percentage of signage, and he preferred as little as possible. <br /> <br />Kevin Ebrahimi, Greenbriar Homes, 4340 Stevens Creek Blvd., Ste. 240, San Jose, spoke <br />in support of this application. He noted that Pat Costanza had planned on attending but <br />had a schedule conflict. He noted that they had worked extensively to find an applicant <br />that would serve the Bernal community. They had met with five different applicants and <br />chose Bernal Partners because they believed they would provide that service. He noted <br />that their disclosure package included the possibility of this service station. Potential <br />buyers had been very supportive of the project and had stated the necessity of a service <br />station in the neighborhood. <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />Randy Curto la, 6981 Corte Mercado, noted that he had been a Pleasanton resident for <br />45years and added that this project was by far the nicest gas station project anywhere in <br />the Bay Area. He provided a petition in support ofthis project to the Commission and <br />noted that he had no trouble getting signatures. <br /> <br />Craig Moore, 1693 East Gate Way, noted that his home was adjacent to the carwash <br />entrance. He thanked the applicant for a wonderful design and added that he was in favor <br />of the gas station. He expressed concern about the carwash and the noise level it would <br />generate and suggested that similarly situated carwashes could be studied. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Chairperson Maas, Mr. Moore replied that it would be better <br />if the hours were shortened. He liked the 54-inch fence, and believe it would help with <br />the larger trucks and SUVs. He believed that a sound barrier could be looked at as well. <br /> <br />Brandice Banta, 566 Cento Court, noted that she had lived in Pleasanton for fourteen <br />years, and she believed this project would be a benefit to the community. She added that <br />the convenience of a neighborhood service station had been lacking for some time. <br /> <br />Sue Flashberger, 4597 El Dorado Court, spoke in support of this item. She noted that the <br />neighborhood needed this service station and that the nearest facility along 680 was in <br />Fremont.
