Each member of the City Council will appoint <br />three (3) residents to the General Plan Review Committee with the Mayor selecting the <br />Chairperson. <br />. The downtown redevelopment is in progress to draw people back to the downtown to <br />help revitalize the area. Items being looked at are: <br />. Art center <br />. Convention center <br />. The Isabelle/I-580 interchange is in the review process to eliminate traffic and help to <br />provide a more pedestrian-oriented atmosphere in the downtown area. <br />. BART is being pursued. <br />. Growth on the north side of Livermore is an issue. <br />. Renovation of City Hall is underway. <br />. Housing implementation project is underway. <br />. Support the City's Housing Element <br />. Senior housing proponent <br />. Lowes Home Improvement Center ready to open. <br /> <br />IV. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />A. Green Buildiol!: Measure - Wendy Sommer, Senior Program Manager, Alameda <br />County Waste Management Authority <br /> <br />. Ms. Sommer indicated that the main goal of the Green Building Measure is to reduce <br />the amount of waste going to the waste fills. <br />. 21 % of waste is generated from demolition and construction projects. <br />. The cities of Dublin and Pleasanton have or are working on a construction and <br />demolition ordinance to encourage 50% of all waste from demolition and <br />construction be recycled. <br />. Green Building Measure will reduce energy consumption and create a healthier <br />environment. <br />. Currently working on a mandate to create building guidelines. <br />. This is a unique opportunity to create a public/private partnership. <br /> <br />Ouestions & Answers: <br />1.
