PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />WEST LAS POSITAS INTERCHANGE ALTERNATIVES STUDY by the West <br />Las Positas Interchan2e Community Advisory Committee <br />The City of Pleasanton formed a Community Advisory Committee to prepare a <br />recommendation to the City Council as to whether or not the City should continue to plan <br />for the construction of the West Las Positas/I -680 Interchange. The report on this study <br />is complete and proposes a recommendation to the City Council. The Committee has <br />identified an alternative to the interchange (widening of Stoneridge Drive), and <br />recommends that the City perform environmental studies in Caltrans format to compare <br />the impacts of building the interchange with this alternative. (A minority report has also <br />been prepared which recommends that these environmental studies be prepared <br />separately from the Caltrans process.) This item is being presented to the Planning <br />Commission for review and comments prior to being forwarded to the City Council. <br /> <br />r- <br /> <br />Larissa Seto advised that she and Commissioner Sullivan had a discussion regarding his previous <br />service as a member of the Advisory Committee. She noted that in accordance with the State <br />Conflict of Interest laws, Commissioner Sullivan is not barred from participating in the <br />discussion and the decision-making. <br /> <br />Randall Lum provided background regarding the formation of the West Las Positas Interchange <br />Traffic Study Community Advisory Committee. He advised that George Homolka, who was <br />selected by the Committee at the beginning of the study process to serve as a project manager <br />and facilitator, has been asked by the Committee to present its report and recommendations.
