r- Resolution No. PC-2002-23 was entered and adopted as motioned.

b. To consider whether the sale of the Alameda County Transportation Corridor from
Bernal Avenue to Stanley Boulevard (the former Southern Pacific Railroad ril!:ht-of-
way) by Alameda County is in conformance with Pleasanton's General Plan.

Jerry Iserson presented the staff report. He noted that the County is going through a legal
exercise as required by State law to sell a portion of the Alameda County Transportation
Corridor located in the Downtown area, and the City must determine if the sale of the property is
in conformance with the Pleasanton General Plan. Mr. Iserson responded to questions from the
Commissioners regarding potential uses for this property and conformance with the City's
General Plan.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED

Brent Wilcox, 3988 Stanley Blvd., stated that he is representing MaryLou Wilcox. He noted that
it has always been a pleasure working with the City of Pleasant on and his preference would be to
not have to work with the County or East Bay Parks. He noted that how the trail is constructed
could affect the residential use of his mother's property, and, therefore, he would look forward to
working with Mike Fulford and Jerry Iserson, and other City staff members on the trail.

He expressed his appreciation to the members of the Planning Commission for their work.

r-

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED

Commissioner Roberts moved to adopt the staff recommendation finding that the Alameda
County's intended sale of the Alameda County Transportation Corridor (Road Fund
Property) would not be consistent with Pleasanton's General Plan if sold to a buyer for the
purpose of any use other than a transportation-related use, but that it would be consistent
with the General Plan if it is sold to a buyer using it for transportation-related purposes.
Commissioner Kameny seconded the motion.

ROLL CALL VOTE

A YES: Commissioners Arkin, Kameny, Maas, Roberts, and Sullivan
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Resolution No. PC-2002-24 was entered and adopted as motioned.

7.
