REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Item 6.e., PUD-80-16-19D & 11M, Providian Bancorp, was continued to the June 27, 2001 <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Chairperson Sullivan reordered the agenda to hear Item 6.a., PCUP-130, Gordon Jue. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />a. PCUP-130. Gordon Jue <br />Application for a conditional use permit to operate a martial arts studio with Taekwon-Do <br />and cardio kickboxing classes between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekdays, and <br />8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, in the Oak Hills Shopping Center located <br />at 5460 Sunol Boulevard. Zoning for the property is C-N (Commercial-Neighborhood) <br />District. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Marion Pavan presented the staff report, providing an overview of the application. He noted that <br />a conditional use permit was previously approved for a martial arts studio in this tenant space, <br />but that the business had relocated and the permit had expired. He noted conditions of approval <br />have been included to mitigate issues related to noise. He further noted that there is adequate <br />parking and the proposed business fits in well with the operations of the shopping center. Mr. <br />Pavan stated that staff is recommending approval of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />COMMENTS FROM THE APPLICANT <br /> <br />Gordon Jue, 6654 Koll Center Parkway#170, Pleasanton, advised that he is the applicant and is <br />available to answer any questions. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts stated that she feels this is an excellent location for this use because of <br />the other services available within the center. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts moved that the conditional use permit findings listed in the staff <br />report be made, and that Case PCUP-130 be approved subject to the conditions of <br />approval listed in Exhibit "B."
