THE CITY OF <br /> - -� -- � CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 16 <br /> pL£ ASA4NTON. <br /> December 7, 2010 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: PRESENTATION FROM LIVERMORE AMADOR VALLEY TRANSIT <br /> AUTHORITY REGARDING THE NEW BUS RAPID TRANSIT SERVICE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On January 24, 2011, the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) will <br /> launch its new bus service, the Rapid. This new bus line will serve Pleasanton, Dublin, <br /> and Livermore and provide service to Kaiser in Pleasanton, both the east and west <br /> Dublin /Pleasanton BART Stations, the Dublin Boulevard corridor and Downtown <br /> Livermore. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Receive presentation from LAVTA. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There are no direct fiscal impacts resulting from the implementation of the Rapid <br /> service. Additional hardware has been installed on approximately 30 traffic signals in <br /> Pleasanton, but the new traffic signal components will be maintained under the existing <br /> signal maintenance contract. LAVTA will maintain their equipment and the maintenance <br /> of the bus shelters along the Rapid route. <br />
