2. PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> The respective law enforcement departments of each agency shall cooperate; <br /> the fire departments of each agency shall maintain regular communication <br /> with respect to fire prevention and suppression issues in the parklands. <br /> 3. OPERATIONS <br /> A. Maintenance. <br /> 1. Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, each party <br /> shall maintain its property in good condition. Each party shall <br /> employ reasonable safety precautions in performing its <br /> maintenance. <br /> 2. Subject to the review and approval of CITY's Director of Parks <br /> and Community Services, DISTRICT, at its own expense, shall <br /> grade those portions of the CITY's Ridgeline Trail that connect <br /> the properties of DISTRICT, as said portion of the Trail is <br /> shown and identified on the attached Exhibit "A." DISTRICT <br /> shall perform this work to the same standards as it provides to <br /> its own Ridgeline properties and shall perform this work on the <br /> same schedule as it provides on its own Ridgeline properties. <br /> 3. CITY shall provide sufficient information to DISTRICT, <br /> including depth and location of utilities, to enable DISTRICT <br /> equipment operators to avoid damage to said utilities. <br /> DISTRICT shall not be responsible for the cost to repair <br /> damage to CITY roads or utilities due to inaccurate information <br /> provided by CITY or due to landslide, subsidence, erosion or <br /> other earth movement. <br /> B. Water <br /> Without charge, DISTRICT may connect to and use for fire <br /> suppression purposes water from CITY's water supply and distribution <br /> system located on the Ridge. <br /> DISTRICT will be subject to water connection fees and user charges <br /> for other water. All water service installation must comply with City <br /> of Pleasanton Water Department standard specifications. <br /> C. Employee Access <br /> Each agency shall allow employees of the other unrestricted vehicular <br /> access to its respective properties for the purposes of public safety and <br /> routine maintenance in the course of their work duties. Construction <br /> activities will be subject to the encroachment permit process. <br /> 2 <br />
