Center Drive intersection, including temporary signal indications for left- and <br /> right -turn movements, prior to construction of any on -site improvements. Said <br /> temporary improvements shall be determined by the City Traffic Engineer. <br /> b) With construction of Phase I: <br /> • Valley Avenue <br /> The project applicant or developer shall widen Valley Avenue by two feet in the <br /> south bound direction between Bernal Avenue and the first driveway opening to <br /> allow for two southbound through lanes. Between the first driveway and the <br /> roundabout to the south of the curb lane, the street shall then transition from <br /> two lanes into one through lane with a long taper. <br /> • Bernal Avenue /Koll Center Drive /Project Driveway <br /> The project applicant or developer shall modify the intersection of Bernal <br /> Avenue and Koll Center Drive including modifying the traffic signal to allow <br /> northbound left-turn and right -turn traffic out of the project site, eastbound right - <br /> turn and westbound left -turn traffic into the project site, and pedestrian access <br /> across Bernal Avenue on the right leg of the intersection. The City and <br /> property owner or their designee shall enter into a maintenance agreement that <br /> allows the City to maintain the traffic signal equipment located on private <br /> property. The project applicant /developer shall be responsible for a Y share of <br /> the ongoing traffic signal maintenance costs once the traffic signal <br /> modifications are constructed and operational. An agreement shall be entered <br /> into with the City of Pleasanton prior to the approval of these improvements to <br /> cover these costs. <br /> • Bernal AvenueNallev Avenue Intersection <br /> The project applicant or developer shall modify the existing "pork chop" island <br /> to allow pedestrian crossings on the west side of this intersection, modify the <br /> east leg of the intersection eliminating the crosswalk, and modify all traffic <br /> signal equipment to account for these improvements as directed by the City <br /> Traffic Engineer. <br /> • Valley Avenue Bus Shelter: <br /> When Phase I is under construction, the project applicant or developer shall <br /> take over the maintenance of the bus shelter and trash enclosure located on <br /> the west side of Valley Avenue in front of the project site. The project applicant <br /> or developer shall enter into new maintenance agreement or modify the <br /> existing agreement to cover the maintenance of the bus shelter and trash <br /> enclosure. This agreement shall be submitted to the City Attorney for review <br /> and approval before the approval of the first building permit by the Chief <br /> Building Official for this development and shall be recorded by separate <br /> instrument before the first building occupancy. <br /> c) With construction of Phase II: <br /> • Northbound I- 680 /Bernal Avenue Entrance Ramp <br /> The project applicant or developer will widen the northbound I- 680 /Bernal <br /> Avenue entrance ramp from one lane to two lanes; modify the westbound right - <br /> turn lane from Bernal Avenue to the entrance ramp to a free right -turn lane; or <br /> modify the westbound approach from Bernal Avenue to the entrance ramp to <br /> 17 <br />
