THE CITY OF 15 <br /> =" I "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON® <br /> October 19, 2010 <br /> Community Development <br /> Planning Division <br /> TITLE: CONFIRM MEMBERS OF AN AD HOC HOUSING ELEMENT TASK FORCE; <br /> SELECT TWO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS TO SERVE ON THE URBAN <br /> HABITAT FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT AND GROWTH <br /> MANAGEMENT SUBCOMMITTEE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On September 7, 2010, the City Council approved the formation of an eleven member ad <br /> hoc Housing Element Task Force consisting of two Planning Commissioners, two <br /> Housing Commissioners, two City Council members and five members to be selected <br /> from the public. The City received 16 applications from the public by the deadline of <br /> Friday, October 8. The City Council will provide the names of nominated public <br /> members, and will select City Council representatives at the meeting. <br /> The City Council is also being asked to select two Council members to serve on the <br /> Urban Habitat Final Settlement Agreement and Growth Management Subcommittee to <br /> oversee the implementation of the Urban Habitat Settlement Agreement and to research <br /> and analyze various growth management options. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Select two Council members and five members of the public, and confirm the <br /> following individuals to serve on the Housing Element Task Force: <br /> • Planning Commissioners (2) Jennifer Pearce, Kathy Narum <br /> • Housing Commissioners (2) David Stark, Colleen Lopez <br /> 2. Select two City Council members to serve on the Urban Habitat Settlement <br /> Agreement and Growth Management Subcommittee. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There will be no significant fiscal impact for the City as a result of initiating the Task Force <br /> and the Council Subcommittee as support for these entities will be provided by City staff <br /> members. <br />
