• Bernal AvenueNallev Avenue Intersection <br /> The project applicant or developer shall modify the existing "pork chop" island <br /> to allow pedestrian crossings on the west side of this intersection, modify the <br /> east leg of the intersection eliminating the crosswalk, and modify all traffic <br /> signal equipment to account for these improvements as directed by the City <br /> Traffic Engineer. <br /> • Valley Avenue Bus Shelter: <br /> When Phase I is under construction, the project applicant or developer shall <br /> take over the maintenance of the bus shelter and trash enclosure located on <br /> the west side of Valley Avenue in front of the project site. The project applicant <br /> or developer shall enter into new maintenance agreement or modify the <br /> existing agreement to cover the maintenance of the bus shelter and trash <br /> enclosure. This agreement shall be submitted to the City Attorney for review <br /> and approval before the approval of the first building permit by the Chief <br /> Building Official for this development and shall be recorded by separate <br /> instrument before the first building occupancy. <br /> c) With construction of Phase II: <br /> • Northbound I- 680 /Bernal Avenue Entrance Ramp <br /> The project applicant or developer will widen the northbound I- 680 /Bernal <br /> Avenue entrance ramp from one lane to two lanes; modify the westbound right - <br /> turn lane from Bernal Avenue to the entrance ramp to a free right -turn lane; or <br /> modify the westbound approach from Bernal Avenue to the entrance ramp to <br /> provide a through lane, a shared through /right lane, and a right -turn only lane. <br /> Construction and occupancy of Phase I (commercial /retail section) is allowed to <br /> proceed absent widening the entrance ramp. The project applicant or <br /> developer shall obtain permit approval from CalTrans for the ramp widening <br /> before the issuance of the first Phase 11 (office section) building permit. <br /> • Bernal AvenueNallev Avenue Intersection <br /> The project applicant or developer shall convert the eastbound /northbound <br /> right -turn lane to a shared through /right -turn lane; widen the existing <br /> westbound/ southbound left -turn lane from one- to two - lanes; and modify all <br /> traffic signal equipment to account for these improvements as directed by the <br /> City Traffic Engineer. Construction of the double left -turn lane shall not result <br /> in the removal of any existing Heritage -size tree presently in the Bernal Avenue <br /> median island. <br /> d) With construction of Phase 1 and Phase 11: <br /> • Traffic Impact Fees <br /> With the issuance of each building permit(s), the project applicant or developer <br /> shall pay the City's Traffic Impact Fee towards new signals at the intersections <br /> of Valley Avenue /Koll Center Parkway (South), Bernal Avenue /Main Street, <br /> Valley Avenue /Paseo Santa Cruz (South), Valley Avenue /Paseo Santa Cruz <br /> (North), and the Valley Avenue /Santa Rita Road. The project applicant or <br /> developer shall be credited for all previous payment of impact fees. <br /> 48. The project applicant or developer will work with the City of Pleasanton to develop a <br /> neighborhood traffic calming program to identify locations where traffic calming devices <br /> 17 <br />
