CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1175 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS 8 (SEWAGE) AND 9 (WATER) OF <br /> TITLE II OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Chapter 8 (Sewage) of Title II of the Ordinance Code <br />of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br /> a. Section 2-15.30.02(b) shall be amended in its <br /> entirety to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "(b) Capacity Required. The Sewage Capacity required by <br /> any project shall be based on the estimated Flow, as <br /> determined by the City, in terms of the Residential <br /> Discharge Equivalency ("RDE"). <br /> <br /> (1) Single-Family Residential. Each single-family <br /> residential dwelling shall be assumed to require <br /> one (1) RDE of Sewage Capacity. <br /> <br /> (2) Multiple-Family Residential and <br /> Non-Residential Uses. The Sewage Capacity required <br /> for each multiple-family residential dwelling or <br /> non-residential use shall be the number of RDE's, <br /> or fraction thereof, which approximates the <br /> strength and Flow of the user's discharge for the <br /> average working day during the peak month of Sewage <br /> generation. <br /> <br /> (i) For purposes of estimating Capacity <br /> requirements, the Director shall base his <br /> estimates of Sewage strength and Flow on any <br /> relevant factor or factors which, in the <br /> Director's opinion, best estimates the User's <br /> discharge. Relevant factors may include, but <br /> are not limited to, sewage general planning <br /> wastewater coefficients, specific use <br /> wastewater coefficients, the number of <br /> plumbing fixture units contained in the <br /> project (with one RDE being the equivalent of <br /> the volume typically discharged from a group <br /> of plumbing fixtures equaling twenty-one (21) <br /> fixture units as said units are defined and <br /> employed in the Uniform Plumbing Code for the <br /> sizing of wastewater piping), the Applicant's <br /> estimate of the Capacity required, the seating <br /> capacity of buildings or improvements upon the <br /> Premises, the population associated with the <br /> <br /> <br />
