06 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> "'' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> October 5, 2010 <br /> Community Development <br /> TITLE: APPROVAL OF A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br /> COMMUNITAS DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT INC (DBA TRANSACT) FOR <br /> SERVICES IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE PREPARATION OF STANDARDS <br /> AND GUIDELINES FOR THE HACIENDA PUD MAJOR MODIFICATION <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Staff is requesting approval of a professional services agreement with Communitas <br /> Design and Development Inc. (dba TransACT), for services in association with preparing <br /> detailed standards and guidelines for the development of mixed use and residential <br /> projects on three vacant sites near BART in the Hacienda Business Park. This request <br /> for consultant services is the result of the deadlines imposed by the Settlement <br /> Agreement and the specialized nature of the professional expertise required to draft <br /> these planning standards. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement with <br /> Communitas Design and Development Inc. (dba TransACT) in the amount of <br /> $24,500 to prepare standards and guidelines for the Hacienda PUD Major <br /> Modification. (Attachment 1) <br /> 2. Approve a $5,000 project contingency (approximately 20% of project cost) to <br /> address additional costs for work outside of the original scope of work. <br /> 3. Appropriate $29,500 from the General Fund Contingency for project costs. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The cost of $29,500 (contract amount plus contingency) will be funded from the General <br /> Fund Contingency. This project is not currently budgeted. <br />
