There is hereby <br /> adop'ted by reference by the City Council of the City of <br /> Pi[.easanton for 't]'le purpose of prescribing regulations <br /> governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire <br /> or explosion, tha't certain Code and Standards known as the <br /> Uniform Fire Code, including Appendix Chapters I-A, I-B, <br /> Ii-A, II-B, III-C, IV-A, VI-C, VI-D, and the Uniform Fire <br /> Code Standards published by the Western Fire Chiefs <br /> Association and 'the International Conference of Building <br /> Officials, being particularly the 1982 editions thereof and <br /> the whole thereof, of which Code and Standards not less than <br /> three (3) copies have been and are now filed in the office of <br /> the City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton and the same are <br /> hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at <br /> length herein. <br /> <br /> 4-1.10]. Establishment and Duties of the Bureau of Fire <br /> Prevention. <br /> <br /> a. The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the Bureau of <br /> Fire Prevention in the Fire Department of the City of <br /> Pleasanton which is hereby established and which shall <br /> be operated under the supervision of the Chief of the <br /> Fire Department. <br /> <br /> b. The Chief of the Fire Department may detail such members <br /> of the Fire Department as inspectors as shall from time <br /> to time be necessary. The Chief of the Fire Department <br /> shall recommend to the City Manager the employment of <br /> technical inspectors, who, when such authorization is <br /> made, shall be selected through an examination which <br /> shall be open to members and non-members of the Fire <br /> Department, and appointments made after examination <br /> shalI be for an indefinite term with removal only for <br /> cause. <br /> <br />4 -1.02 De fin i. tions <br /> <br />a. Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the Uniform <br /> Fire Code, i't shall be held to mean the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br />b. Wherever the term "Corporation Counsel" is used in the <br /> Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the City' <br /> Attorney for the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />c. Wherever the term "Bureau of Fire Prevention" is used in <br /> the. Uniform Fire Code it shall be deemed to mean the <br /> division of the Fire Department of the City of <br /> <br /> <br />
