<br />Commissioner Arkin noted that the Planning Commission received a letter from Mr. Mark <br />r-- Posson regarding Vineyard Avenue traffic impacts as a result of the Centex project. Mr. Pavan <br />advised that this is essentially the same letter that Mr. Posson submitted on the Deleo project. <br />He advised that the City Council addressed these concerns when reviewing the Specific Plan and <br />recommended that these concerns be resolved through the CIP process. Mr. Pavan advised that <br />Vineyard Avenue will be resurfaced with rubberized asphalt by early next year. Mr. Swift <br />advised that staff could respond to the letter more specifically at the next meeting. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky provided background on the traffic calming devices that have been provided for <br />this area at the direction of the City Council. Mr. Brozosky noted that if this is an existing <br />concern, it is probably not a result of this project. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Arkin questioned the zoning of the Staples Ranch property. Mr. Swift advised <br />that the property is still in the County and the Specific Plan designation allows for commercial <br />and light industrial/business park uses, as well as a 17 -acre community park. Commissioner <br />Arkin suggested that the property be considered for use as a cemetery. <br /> <br />,-- <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts stated that she received a complaint about the junk hanging on balconies <br />of the apartments on the west side of Santa Rita Road. Commissioner Arkin noted that boxes are <br />stacked on balconies of the Archstone Apartments. Ms. Seto advised that the City has a property <br />maintenance ordinance and will refer this matter to Code Enforcement. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Commissioner Roberts regarding the City Council notice for the <br />Deleo project, Mr. Swift advised that the number of units stated in the notice is consistent with <br />Deleo's application which has not changed and does not reflect the modification made by the <br />Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Roberts commented on the sign behind the liquor store on Main Street across <br />from U.S. Banle Mr. Pavan advised that Code Enforcement is working on this matter. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW/ACTION <br /> <br />a. Future Planning Calendar <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas stated that she is concerned about having Centex come back on March 14, <br />and hearing the item on Growth Management on the same evening.
