7. Approved plans and specifications, awarded and authorized the City Manager to execute <br />construction to Bay Cities Paving & Grading, Inc., in the amount of $998,249.45 for the <br />Annual Streets Resurfacing project, CIP No. 105003; authorized the Director of <br />Community Development to approve and execute change orders not to exceed $149,737 <br />8. Adopted Resolution No. 10 -391 authorizing the filing of an application for Federal Surface <br />Transportation Program (STP) and /or Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement <br />(CMAQ) funding and committing the necessary non - federal match and stating the <br />assurance to complete the Pavement Rehabilitation of Various City Streets Project, CIP <br />No. 105036 <br />Finance <br />9. Accepted the Monthly Disbursements and Investment Report for June 2010 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />10. Ratified approval to award contract to San Francisco Shakespeare Festival in the amount <br />of $127,000 for Theatrical Production Services <br />11. Ratified approval to award contract to Image X in the amount of $ 42,512 for printing <br />services associated with the Parks and Community Services Department's Activities Guide <br />12. Approved contract to Jill Turman in the amount of $11,400 to purchase bike rack <br />sculptures for the Firehouse Arts Center <br />13. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute contract to Barbara Lewis, Attention <br />Business Communications in the amount of $25,000 to provide ongoing publicity and <br />marketing services for the Firehouse Arts Center <br />MOTION: It was m/s by McGovern /Sullivan to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as <br />noted. Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook- Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Vice Mayor Thorne <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Mayor Hosterman <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />14. Public Comment <br />Fred Norman read the names of 3 American soldiers killed in Iraq and 32 American soldiers <br />killed in Afghanistan since the last regular Council meeting. He invited everyone to join the <br />Pleasantonians for Peace at their next peaceful protest. <br />Kay Ayala addressed the Council concerning the recently filed lawsuit by the Lin's in an attempt <br />to override the voters decision opposing the Oak Grove project. <br />Alyssa Goard said she would be resigning from the Commission on Energy and the <br />Environment because she is leaving for college.
