Proposal • City of Pleasanton Housing Element Update
NI Response to comments from HCD and the public — with proposed
possible modifications to the Draft Housing Element.
III Planning Commission and City Council public hearings to adopt
the Draft Housing Element (which may also include recommended
modifications based on HCD and public comments).
N Final Housing Element.
We want to remain flexible in establishing the working relationship with City
staff so we can best fit with the City's needs. Establishing a close working
relationship with staff will enable the coordinated and efficient review and /or
direction on products to occur. Direct phone -line contact would be provided
between City staff and the consultant. We have found that projects like this
have items coming up continually (preparation of meeting materials, review
of alternative strategies, coordination needs, etc.) and it will be important to
maintain easy and responsive email and phone contact between staff and the
consultant.
Products would be prepared as needed to fit the schedule. We have found
that staff direction on products, discussion of alternative approaches, review of
outlines, review of preliminary drafts, etc. enable our work to be better tailored
to the needs and schedule of the cities with which we work. Close coordination
and contact enables efficient production of materials, especially when there are
shared responsibilities in production.
Description of Work Tasks
The tasks below are intended to be completed to comply with the schedule as
determined by the City in the REP.
Task 7
Coordination with City Staff
Meetings will be conducted as needed with City staff to coordinate data
collection activities, product needs, technical issues and process considerations.
This task would include refinement of a Work Program for the entire update
and related activities in collaboration with City staff. The work plan would
outline the specific schedule, milestones, approach, community outreach
activities, responsibilities, etc. The Consultant will meet with Planning staff at
least monthly to coordinate work on the project including: (1) refinement of
information; (2) development of "best practices"; (3) direction for products;
Part 2 — Work Tasks 7
