ENOEO GEOTECHNICAL ENVIRONMENTAL WATER RESOURCES I N C O R P O P A T E D CONSTRUCTION SERVICES Project No. 4636.100.301 February 25, 2010 Mr. Wes Jost City of Pleasanton, Engineering Services 200 Old Bernal Avenue Pleasanton, CA 94566 -0802 Subject: Oak Tree Farm Pleasanton, California PROPOSAL FOR GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICT (GHAD) MONITORING Dear Mr. Jost: As requested, ENGEO is pleased to provide the following fee estimate for observation of improvements within the Oak Tree Farm GHAD. The monitoring events are intended to satisfy the requirements of the Plan of Control dated June 1, 1993. The monitoring events will include: • Reconnaissance of common area cut slopes located adjacent to improvements. • Observation of areas of known landslide repairs undertaken during the mass grading operations. • Observation of known readily accessible subdrain outlets installed during mass grading. • Observation of the lined surface drainage ditches and catch basin inlets for debris. • Observation of selected curb and gutter alignments. We will also review areas of potential slope instability that were documented in earlier geotechnical studies and that are located adjacent to existing improvements. We propose to conduct two regularly scheduled monitoring events per year and submit a monitoring report for each event. As requested, the term of this proposal covers the 5 -year period from 2010 through 2014. We propose to perform the services outlined above for a fee of $2,000 per event for the first two years (2010 and 2011) and $2,100 per event for remaining three years (2012, 2013 and 2014). For the 5 -year period, the fee would be $20,600. Note that ENGEO has been performing site reconnaissance at Oak Tree Farm since 1999, and the fees for our services have been fixed since 2005. As requested, we will conduct additional inspection events on an as- needed basis as defined by the Plan of Control (e.g., whenever rainfall exceeds 2 inches in a 24 -hour period as reported by local monitoring stations) for a fixed fee of $1,800 per event, including the summary report.
