THE CITY OF <br /> - A <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 4 <br /> jIL£ASANON. <br /> August 17, 2010 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY CAL -BAY <br /> CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR THE PERMIT CENTER <br /> REMODELING PROJECT, CIP NO. (098037) <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Construction of the Pleasanton Permit Center Remodeling Project is complete and <br /> ready for acceptance. The subject project consisted of the removal and disposal of <br /> existing cabinetry, ceilings and lighting and reconfiguration of the Permit Center with <br /> new cabinetry, carpet and lighting. Carpets were replaced and walls repainted in the <br /> hallway from the front door to the City Council Chambers as well as the Large <br /> Conference Room. The Project also included the installation of eight Solar Tubes which <br /> provide natural lighting to the Permit Center in compliance with the City's desire to add <br /> environmentally "green" measures to our projects. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $14,928.85 to Cal -Bay <br /> Construction Company, Inc., thirty days after recordation of the Notice of <br /> Completion. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The remodel of the Permit Center is not expected to increase the annual maintenance <br /> costs for the building. <br />
